Yes..the mic does work. You would have to have personal experience with the device, as opposed to reading/watching about it, to truly know, right?

And on that note, as a Nexus One user with first hand experience (that's you Alpha!), how do you feel about the speaker? I have a bb pearl 8130 and I have to say that I think the speaker is pretty darn good. I listen to music, watch youtube videos, talk to people on the phone, and use my phone as an alarm clock without complaint. How might this compare to the N1 speaker? Should I be concerned?

I haven't read any reports about tests but I can say that I have been at a AZ Diamondbacks game and had a very clear conversation. The person I was talking to couldn't believe I was at a game. The dual mic has made my phone conversations easier when I am in a noisy environment.
