I am pretty sure that you can do that, as long as you have something like Gizmo5 or sipgate?

I would like to hear from people who have done this and how it's working out for them? VOIP calls are usually not as clear as regular calls, but if you can save money, it might be worth putting up with a few problems. For example, I just moved from Verizon to Skype for my land line. I used to pay Verizon $63 a month, and now I pay $7.00 a month. The calls are not quite as clear as Verizon, but the cost savings are worth it.

why is this whole change your plan to get the best out of the whole package deal 100% full of ****?

If I were someone who dished out 530 $ for a phone, and don't even have 3G where I live ,and spending 80 a month on a plan that can do the same all other plans can do.

T-mo showed their true colors on this one.
When new phones come out they go on the most expensive plans, then they move down to cheaper plans during their lifecycle, it's the nature of the business

You think $80 a month is expensive?

Go talk with Verizon and AT&T about their unlimited talk/text/web plans.

The bare minimum for an iPhone at AT&T is $99, and that's limiting to 450 minutes/text/web.

You can't have wine tastes on a beer budget, people.

Seems kind of dumb that you would have to sign a 2 year contract when you have an unlocked phone. I wonder if the employee was just stupid?

Update: I just went to the T-Mobil site and went through the process of ordering a data only plan (I selected the one under Microsoft mobile) $39.99 a month. I also added a sim card to my order (free). I did not complete the order, I just wanted to see if it would work. I'm not sure that it would have made me do a 2 year contract. Maybe by placing the order, they would say that I agreed to a 2 year contract?

I too thought I could get the Total Internet Plan from T-Mobile without a two year contract, but at the very last page in the fine print at the bottom in all caps it says that you are agreeing to a two-year contract.
