Family Plan with the Nexus One
Ok so here is my situation. I am currently in a family plan with three others. The contract just ended and i want to get the Nexus One but not without some sort of subsidized price. I heard you can change your plan once you get the phone. If i sign up for the contract and get the Nexus One for $179 will i be able to join back into the family plan or can i only change the plan to another single line plan?

I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking you'd have to break the contractual agreement for the individual plan, pay all the ETF, and it would be a lot more for you in the long run.
I really don't see why people still choose the subsidised plan when they have the choice. Look up the math on the subsidised vs. unsubsidised and you'll see it's far better to pay the full price for the phone up-front. in my situation with buying 2 N1's for me and my wife I save money after 14 months, long before the 24 months of a contract.

i understand the math difference between buying subsidized and unsubsidized. I just didnt know if there is a way to get the subsidized price and the plan that you want (family plan).

Call 611 from your phone, that is the fastest way. BTW, I am paying $119.99+Tx for 1500 Even More plus plan. 3 numbers are under this plan and Unlimited web for the 1st two lines and unlimited text for all three lines are included. Tmobile waived my activation charges because they made the mistake.

Hopefully, you figured this already but call the number and ask what your options are. Is your contract over? When i talked to the agent @ tmobile, Unlimited Web access only applies to first two line in a family plan. so keep that in mind and even more plus is a non contract plan that do not offer the discounts on the phone.

I just switched from AT&T to T-Mobile, my contract with AT&T expired. I was able to purchase on N1 for $179 with the 2yr contract, but had to purchase the 2nd N1 for full price from google. They (google) would not let me get two for $179 without having 2 separate contracts. However, I am on a family plan with 2 N1's now. Just sucks that I had to pay full price for the 2nd one.
