So I clicked your link and the info on the deal mentions calling a number? Do you have to call that number to get the discount? Do you have to order a cell phone over the phone?

Yah you have to call the number and speak to a T-Mobile rep then mention the promo code and the affiliation to Studentrate to apply the 10% discount.

They have opened their site up to incoming freshman who don't have an .edu email address yet so if you check the box that says "I'm an incoming freshman" you can register to be a member using your regular email address and without being a student

I think you just have to be a member of studentrate. You can get the discount/make your purchase using their online link. Not sure if it has all the new phones on it though.
