Yeah - it looks like they're going to include it in the next Android update:

ALERT: just to let y'all know, Tommy (Google Employee) deleted his post from the forum quoted above... Maybe there will be no update

I hope there still will be an update...

does anyone see what I see???

vertical striped bands of digital noise - very strange - stranger than any camera noise I have ever seen..in phone cameras or any kind of camera....see it most in dark areas.....

.... was the same on Verizon Droid Eris

Love everything else about the camera and the phone...but the bizarre vertical striped noise.

Camera is most important to me....but can't stand the noise...

Look at these pics...in the dark areas,,,that's what I am talking about...

Nexus One camera shots - Engadget Galleries

#'s 3,5,7??? - in the dark areas

Is there a fix?!?!?

is there a fix????...don't want to make the same mistake again...

Need help soon..while I can still return my iPhone... without zoom or decent zoom app...

RSVP...ASAP....

Many thanks.....

I was really hoping the update would include some kind of camera fix, but it did not. Perhaps they cannot fix it

Mine is still showing the red blur too. For those that claim to
have had this issue fixed did you either soft or hard reset your phone after applying the update? I just applied the update and see the red blur problem is still present.

Yes, when a camera has to take a dark picture, it either has a low shutter speed or a high ISO level, for the Nexus One, it has a high ISO level, even with £100 cameras you get a bit of noise with high ISO levels. It is perfectly normal, there is a small possibility it might be fixed by 'balancing out' the lines...

Even with the most expensive digital camera you can find, if you take a photo with low levels and then the exact same photo with high levels, there will be a noticeable difference.

I think the issue of the pink blob is much more important, also, most photo editing software has noise-reduction, maybe try using that after taking a dark pic.

I updated my Nexus one manually last Friday and I've still got the red blur in the middle of the camera - very annoying ! I turned the device on / off a few times and checked that setting mentioned earlier was indeed automatic so Mr Google, ball's in your court, so to speak ....

Does anyone know a way to get the HTC Droid Eris camera software into the Nexus one. that was the best camera interface in a phone I have ever seen. Wish I could see it on the N1....

Hope someone has an answer......

Thanks!
