try this.

*#*#4636#*#* in the phone area.

and you will see a new screen.

select PHONE INFORMATION

then scroll all the way down, and select WCDMA preferred (select WCDMA if 3G is good in your area and it wont switch back and forth on you anymore), and then hit home and it will cycle the radio.

this will stop you from going from 3g to edge all the time. so if you solid 3g in your area, i would go wcdma only and it will connect to the 3g network and stop looking for the edge network.

In my area, i live in washington dc and it sometimes goes in and out when i go from upstairs to downstairs, so with this trick it stays on 3g all the time.

hope that answers your question.

On a GSM phone like AT&T you need to select GSM only.
