Angry Problem with Froyo and (built-in) Twitter app -- force close

When I was in Eclair, I had downloaded the Twitter app (from Twitter) and it used to work just fine.

However, since my upgrade to Froyo (build FRF91) I am having a serious problem.

Twitter force closes always.

Twitter is a "built-in" app in Froyo.

1. It force closes all the time, even if I am not running it.
Solved this problem from "Settings --> Accounts & Sync --> "twitter account name" --> disable sync.

However I still can't run Twitter -- it force closes

2. I tried "Settings --> Accounts & Sync --> "twitter account name" -- Then I tried to "Remove Account". But that also causes a force close from Twitter.

Anybody else having this problem?

Well, on my Froyo (build FRF91) it is.

1. I can't uninstall it
Under "Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All"
When I select "Twitter", all the buttons are grayed out (also, Twitter does not show up here under the "Downloaded" tab)

2. I go to "Market", choose Twitter (where it shows up as "Installed"), the "Uninstall" button is grayed out

3. Using the ASTRO file manager, Twitter shows up under "/system/app"

I guess it's one of those "you downloaded it it so it's there to stay" kinda things. I never installed it so it's not on my phone. My point was it didn't come native to froyo.

Seems that way for me as well. I use Twidroyd, so I've never signed into the Twitter app, and hadn't noticed it's there. It doesn't show up as a downloaded app, and it doesn't have an uninstall option, either.

I use Twicca. I also use Home++ launcher, so I thought the native Twitter app may have become obscured, but going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications... I can't find any native Twitter app. It might be there (since ya'll say it came w/ Froyo) but I don't see it.

Make sure you look under the "All" tab, instead of the default "download" tab...you'll see it there.

If you're speaking to me, yes I've looked. No Twitter app. I'm glad I don't have it... 'course now that I've publicly acknowledged this it will likely appear next time I look
