Exclamation Battery life suddenly decreases over night?

So I usually get a day out of my N1 and I charge it every night. today I got up to go to my soccer game and my phone was at 100%. it was about an hour trip. I did not text at all. my wifi gps and Bluetooth were off. I only listened to about a half hour of music and that's about all the use the phone had. also the brightness was at 50%. when I got back in the car after my roughly hour and a half long game my battery was at 40%. this has never happened. any ideas?

Was it Pandora Radio that you were listening to? I've heard that pandora is a Juice Hog When left open. I used to use Taskiller to end it when I was Finished.

There is no need to use a task killer for Pandora. It has a "Quit" feature of its own (under the menu when it's running, lower right corner).

Also, I use Pandora quite a lot and I've never seen any "juice hogging". With the screen brightness at 50%, all applications that are running with the screen on will hog juice.

It has been documented that some Apps are known to eat data if left open in the background. I have Experienced Issues with it when Left open in the Background. Not sure I agree with your assessment that All Applications Hog Juice when the Screen is on. OS Monitor for example will not Eat very much Battery because its not doing anything but Monitoring.

Mitch, I recently had the same problem. At first, my N1 got incredible battery life, then one day I was charging it more often than I did my iPhone. However, I pulled my battery and rebooted my phone and I have normal battery life again.

I just happened to notice last night....I paused Streamfurious (most music apps, pause is the same as stop), but I watched as the stream continued downloading unabated. Normally, I would have stopped it, and clicked another icon, launching another app, etc. all the while unwittingly downloading a bunch of streaming I wasn't listening to. Seems like a design flaw, eh?

I found a great app called setcpu that conserves battery life when phone is in idle state - set cpu to 'on demand' and difference for battery life is noticeable.
You must be rooted to take advantage of this app.

Smile Thanks for all the replies

well I wasn't using Pandora. and when I got home I charged to about 50% then went to my friends and charged to 100%. now my battery life is back to normal! what a weird glitch. I think the problem was that I'm running 2.2 and my friend said that there are a lot of glitches with new roms and battery life. so maybe that was it. all that matters is that I'm.back to normal!

How did you solve the problem?

I am very sure it is because of Android 2.2. My battery usually have 50% left after a day of use, but right after upgrading to Android 2.2, the battery will totally used up at night! This is bothering me.
