N1 Stock Keyboard acting up!

hi,

my keyboard is acting up sometimes like when composing an SMS, I press the DEL key, it gives me the smiley icon, press another character and it gives me a period or a space. anyone experience this?

I've had similar issues. I have narrowed it down to a rooted app that causes my issues. The LED Hack app causes my phone to be squirrely when activated. Even after the update.

glad to know i'm not alone lol

i thought it's going to disappear if i update to froyo. but it still happens even after updating. =(

Ugh...same here. I kept trying to tap delete, and it didn't work after like 2 mins, so I flipped it horizontally, and the exact same thing...I then tried voice, and it finally worked. >_<

My keyboards act up occasionally, stock and HTC-ime, and putting the phone to sleep for a few seconds then waking it back up seems to help.

it's annoying.. it's definitely a bug and it seems not so many are experiencing it.. i hope google is aware of this and will release a minor update to fix it.

It happens to me and to my husband, both of us on non-rooted N1s, both of us on Froyo now, and both of us having experienced the problem before and after the move to 2.2. Rebooting the phone fices it. Sometimes using Advanced Task Killer to clean up the processes also helps.

Nice to have a work-around, but it'd be nicer still for the problem not to happen.

Yeah this happens to me as well, sometimes a few times a night and then not for a week.

Fix for it - keylock and unlock your phone

It's my personal opinion that a lot of these types of problems are caused by flaky applications, etc.

So many N1 owners get crazy installing every application under the sun and some applications are just not good team players.
