I don't think switching router would fix it for me. I switched from HTC Hero to the N1. Wifi would not disconnect after the screen turns off on the Hero.

Yes, they said that it looks like a hardware issue and I should send the device for repair. There was also an option of having a replacement device sent but that would have put hold for 529USD which I didnt had so I will be sending for repair on Monday.

please let me know if after the repair it'll be fixed. Would I still be able to send it in for repair? I bought mine in Feb.

Yes as far as I know you have a one year warranty. Please give a call to google tech support first and they will tell you what needs to be done next.

I'll just wait till you get yours back and see if it solved the problem. I don't have another unlocked phone. Sold my unlocked Hero and the phone before the Hero is locked to my old provider.

I forgot I rooted mine. My warranty is no more. I thought installing custom rom like Cyanogen would fix it, but no. So then I thought the new froyo 2.2 would fix it, but still no. Well, still let me know if google fixes yours.
