FYI... wma is not one of the supported file format.

My G1 with cupcake supported all of my wma files ... now the same sd card cant be read by the music player on my new nexus one. Did google remove the wma capability with the new versions?

Is there a setting on the nexus one that can allow reading of wma files?

The N1 has never had WMA support... use MediaMonkey to do a quick and painless WMA->mp3 conversion. G'Luck!

Thanks for the tip about mediamonkey. I am converting my library now.

It does seem odd that a capability that was on 1.6 does not exist on 2.1. I wonder if wma is being forced out of the market?

It does seem to be falling out of favor, generally. Most of the on-line music services only used it for it's DRM potential, but now that tunes are sub $1, and DRM-free, the greatest compatibility is offered by the mp3 format. I suspect M$ dug their own graves on that one too.
