Calendar sync issue

I just received my new Nexus One. Love the phone so far, especially gmail and voice apps.

One problem I've encountered: I have several years of events in my Google Calendar. I've got auto sync enabled, yet it only syncs events going back one month.

I've tried doing a manual sync, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Any others encounter this issue?

It should sync all calendar data, if you go into your calendar and choose agenda in the settings, at the top it should say 'Showing events since...' there you can choose your date.

Try that!!

Thanks! I tried, but couldn't find those settings after selecting Agenda in the Calendar app. Could you go through it again? Appreciate it.

Sorry -- found the setting for that in the agenda section. It was already set to the year 2001 and showed all recurring events back to that year. However, all unique events only showed up for the last month.

I gave a call to the new Nexus One tech line -- and they said it was set that way by default (for unique events).

Yes, it's interesting. A bit disappointing, though, since I'm used to having my entire calendar, including all past entries, on my device.

Does anyone have a workaround for the one month limit?

yea go back and enter them manually. what do u need events from years ago on your calendar any way? not to be rude, just curious im sure there is a good reason...

It's just confusing to me why this wouldn't be a key feature of a Google calendar. For example, Google wants us to 'archive' not 'delete' email, so we can search our mail going back a long time.

This would apply for Calendar as well, I think, for people who record significant events in their calendars. For this subset of people (me included), to be able to search for these events on my Nexus One would be quite nice.

I actually agree with you, maybe if enough people gripe; they may address it in a future software update.
