Sometimes programmers think they are trying to help. "What would a user want to do that for???" Also, eventually they have to release the software, so they can't always finish everything they want to finish. A lot of times that stuff is on the todo list for later; for now at least it does something, if you know what I mean. Problem is, sometimes they never go back and fix the shortcuts they make. Could also have something to do with the limited on board memory.

Glad to hear that there are other Nexus One users who think similarly!

Just a quick update from Google Support on the calendar sync parameters:
__________________________________________________ _____________ Thanks for your note. I have provided an overview of how the calender sync works. Here's how calendar sync works: - When you sync your phone for the first time, it downloads all future calendar entries and entires from up to 1 month ago. - Recurring events are treated by calendar as a single event spread out over multiple days. So, if a recurring event occurs in the future or within the past month of the first sync, it will show up on the phone from the date it began to the date it ends. - All events created after the first sync are synced as well. So, if after you sync your phone for the first time, you schedule an event in the past, this will be synced to the phone even if it is longer than a month ago. - After the initial sync, calendar information will be stored forever (or until the calendar application data is manually deleted). So, the phone will always have events dating back to 1 month before the initial sync. Hope this answers your question. Kindly reply to this mail for any further clarification. Thanks for your patience. |

Yes, the history bit would be nice. What would be nicer; if it WORKED period with current data. It was working, but just stopped. Yes, I've checked all the settings, tried manual sync but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Cheers, Skip Stein Management Systems Consulting, Inc.[/QUOTE] Did current data sync come back for you, yet? I inadvertently came upon a solution to my calendar history issue. I used Spanning Sync to sync from my Mac's iCal application to Google, then it goes to the Nexus One. Well - when resetting the data on my Google Calendar before doing a full sync, it allowed all historical events to show up in Google Calendar, and they all synced to the Nexus One. I think the reset made the Nexus One think that all the data was 'new,' so it synced it all! So, I've got all my calendar data in my Nexus One; now it would be nice to be able to search it, or at least, go to a specific date in the past. |

The previous posts did not gave me any clear solution to my problem. Unless there is something that I do no understand.
I have access to only part of the events that I see on Google agenda thru my computer on my nexus. Even the new events that I add thru the computer do not appear. How do I get Nexus to synchronize? Thanks. Last edited by francois.e; 08-15-2011 at 11:36 AM. Reason: clarity |
