Yes, after the OTA I was getting "E", "G", and "3G" symbols, all clocking in at .95 mb.
Called HTC, while nice people, couldn't explain. Went back to normal today, Edge around .2 mb, 3G average .92 mb. Still wondering what "G" meant!

The "G" probably meant GPRS.

I just did a speed test on all available networks, 2g, 3g, and my home wifi. I have three bars of 3g in my house and good reception on 2g also. My speed test revealed that the 2g was faster than the 3g, but both were very slow. My wifi at home was the fastest by far. It almost appears that the 2g, 3g service is a fraud. Not good. I did the same test on my iphone and it was twice as fast in 2g mode as the Nexus in 3g. Go figure.
