What's wrong with the battery

For the second time this week after I woke up my phone was off. The battery was 60% when I went to bed. I don't think this is normal. The wifi is off, the bluetooth if off, the gps is off.

theres a bug in default messaging app that wont allow the phone to sleep. download and set your default to handcent or chomp and turn off messaging notifications from the old app.
this should help alot

It could be a defective battery. The messaging app tells the phone "not" to put the "application" to sleep, so you can continue to receive notifications... anyway, the app wouldn't use that much power.

I'm having the same issue. Apparently it's connected to the 3G connectivity issue as described in the t-mobile forum thread below. I do get a decent 3G signal at home and at work and my battery still drains like nothing.

FYI,

One thing I've notice, in the battery use menu > cell standby; Yesterday I was at 49%, I went into details and it showed I had lost reception for 5%.
Today I'm at 79% and details show 26% lost reception.

So even though my bars are at full now when I walk around with it i.e stair, basement, elevator etc. this is were the reception will decrease and may even be lost for a moment, which would cause a battery drain as the phone tries to lock onto a tower.

It would be interesting to see if any of you folks have similar readings with the lost reception and cell standby.
