Boot looping nexus one

no one else has encountered a loading problem?
I left it for an hour and it wouldn't to past what I would estimate is 40%. is this nexus one dead/bricked? ;_; |

Unfortunately I believe it might be. If someone else can think of something then good but if not then I'm pretty sure it's getting stuck somewhere, a bad sector somewhere that is not permitting the flash of necessarily files to it.

is there a way to mount the N1 from the booloader, fastboot, or hboot?
I read somewhere about using gparted to reformat it from Linux and want to give that a shot, you can give me some advice on that as well, that'd be awesome
