No video recording.

Hello Everyone,

My issue is when i press the record button for the video the image becomes a still and the clock is counting down. When I press the record button again. Nothing happens. Nothing is saved and the image go back to working like a video.

The phone can take pictures.

I tried the search function but only get cases where the phone crashes.

Thank You,
A

Im almost sure its rooted. The phone belongs to a friend who bought it "unlocked". It has a light blue animated image when it is starting up. I dont have the phone on hand so when i do see him i want some ideas on how to solve this issue.

Sounds like CM6, or a variant of...

Like I said, start with wiping the data, and then you could try an updated kernel also.

Has the camera always had problems, or are they a recent development?

You mean reset the camara to stock settings? i did that to no effect.

Can the kernal be updated through the phone or do i have to download it first and drop it onto the sd?

To wipe data from the camera:
From the home screen, Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All tab, find the camera and select, wipe data and cache (if available)...

Also, is this a new problem, or has it always been like this?

I could of swore when he got the phone it worked.

he also had a problem with the SD card malfunctioning. I just dropped it into the PC and formatted it and haven't heard anything about that issue.
