Warning: Upgrade doesn't work

My Nexus One told me this morning (2010-11-23) that I had an upgrade to install in a two step installation.

After the upgrade I ended up with:

* My icons, ring tone, background and accounts were gone. It seemed to be like a new phone with welcome messages.

* Most applications crashes - including Listen and K9-mail.

* Most applications were still there.

* Dial history was gone of course.

It seems like most things stored in phone was gone or something (only one of my music playlist is gone).

I've started to reconfigure my life again.

This is just a warning to those thinking about upgrading the phone at the moment.

Update: The crashed applications are fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling.

Lot of work, but it works. Beware of non-backupped data...

hopefully people will now backup before updating.

So then the Upgrade ota did work? You just lost data i see.

Always recommended that you backup everything you can before upgrading

I am so annoyd received message to update, this thing has killed my phone everything hasd gone !!

At a lost as to where to start, I have lost my Network connecton even olost Netyrk connection

Has anything as severe happened to anyone else following update?

thats Odd.

Have you tried a Factory Data Reset? Might as well give it a go since all your stuff was wiped anyway.

No problems to report here. Took a few minutes longer to boot after the second part of the update, but once I was up and running everything stayed the same.
