tethering laptop thru nexus one?

Just got mine yesterday, still not sure im going to keep it. I'm tring to figure out how to tether to laptop thru the blutooth. Im not having much luck so far. I'm able to connect thru my other phone (sonyericson w760i) on the same sim card, but cant get it to work on nexus yet. I'm also using att 2 g now, seems to work good for phone service and downloading apps. Anybody else getting the tethering to work or having problems?
Thanks Greg

I plan on using PDAnet. Don't think it supports BT tethering, but it's free sans https.

I've been using PDANet and it works pretty well. Can't say I've tried it through BT yet though.

So how are you connecting using this app? Usb cable or wifi?

The PDANet widget allows you to enable tethering for either USB or BT. I haven't actually used it at all so I can't confirm that it works.

I would prefer to tether via wifi, but I believe I've read that this requires first replacing the system ROM.

I have used it as BlueTooth modem. it works just as well. You will need to create a dial up connection with phone numbe 123, no user name and password.

It's a piece of cake for me to get connection. are you setting up to use USB or BlueTooth? all the instructions were on screen during installation.

The only thing I found problem was not being to established bluetooth connection. Then I went to PDAnet support page to find out it is actually using Dial Up Network (DUN). Then the phone number is 123. That's it.
