Boot when battery inserted?
Hi,
I'm experiencing the power button issues that have been documented elsewhere in the forums. I've found several solutions to ameliorate this problem: using one of the "unlock on trackball press" solutions out there, and using Screebl Pro to set my lock timeout to a ridiculously low value without it locking while I'm using it. I also have an app (don't remember the name at the moment and I don't have the phone with me, but search for it on the market) that will allow me to reboot the phone, and I remember seeing apps for silencing or switching to airplane mode. However, there is still at least one case where the power button is indispensable: turning on the phone when it shuts down. While the "not powering off" solution is viable most of the time, there are times when my phone actually powers off (i.e. when it runs out of battery). I've seen other phones that actually turn on the moment you pull out and reinsert the battery but I haven't found a way of doing this with the Nexus. Has anyone heard of a way to do this? BTW, my phone is rooted and unlocked, and I'm running Froyo FRF91 with the Amon-RA bootloader. Thanks in advance! |

A friend of mine found this post: Nexus One power button failure | DroidDog Android Blog. In essence you need to follow these steps:
1. Plug the phone in– USB or AC works fine. 2. Wait until the charging light comes on. 3. Remove the battery, while leaving the phone plugged in. 4. Replace the battery. 5. Rinse and repeat, and after about 3-4 times, the phone should boot. I tried it and what do you know! It worked! |
