You need to get that file from the net, and stick it into your fastboot folder.

i think the way i did it, i downloaded the android sdk for 2.1, with tools and usb drivers. i will post the way i did it just in case it helps...

getting that winapi.dll was a bit of a pain for me, but i managed to get it in downloading something from that guide.

Update - if you download the android 2.1 sdk, with tools etc, in the tools folder (wherever it saves the android sdk to your hard drive) there is the file AdbWinApi.dll. copy that into your fastboot folder.

so i got that to start working.

but dos window says

...INFOErasing userdata...
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))

phone has rebooted to the welcome to android window.

has it worked?
