Camera sound

The camera shutter sound is pretty annoying. You can get rid of it by turning the ringer volume all the way down, but it would be nice to just disable it.

Has anyone found a setting to control this, or change the sound the camera makes?

there's no real way to disable it unfortunately.

All camera phones at some point may be required to make a noise, consider turning the volume down to make it disappear a convenience: In japan all cameraphones must make a noise due to pervs sticking their camera under camera stalls and skirts.

I take pictures at stores of designs for work, so it helps me to not have it makes a sound. I use Camera Zoom FX, it has an option to disable sound.

you can do it before open up your camera software silent your phone by using volume down, or just using the SilentMode onOff, or other software. now you can take picture without a sound. You need to re-enable the sound after finished to play with your camera.

I'd have thought, with a rooted device, you could replace the sound clip that plays with a blank one.

Don't quote me, though. I know very little.

My worry is that the sound will wake people up when I've crept into their bedroom at night.

Thankfully the video app doesn't make a noise.
