Exclamation how to get insurance for your nexus one

just called tmobile and got a lovely agent who told me how to get around the insurance from tmobile and asurion. asurion offers it but tmobile denies it soheres what you do, get a bullshit tmobile phone, take the sim out of your n1 and put it in the old phone, let the sim register to the old phone, call tmobile and add insurance to your account. thats it your n1 is now covered when you put it back in the n1. your insurance is now on your sim and will be recognized by assurion. trust me. it works. if you purchased an unlocked model and already had an account with the insurance youre already covered.

I am currently using my G1, which is insured. Does this mean my N1 would be covered when I put my sim card in? I think that's what you were saying; just wanted to be sure I'm hearing you right.

They do offer insurance now. It's an option on Asurion's website. Select Google as the manufacturer and Nexus One as the phone. The insurance is $4.79/month and the deductible is $130.

this needs to be stickied because you only have a14 day window to get your nexus insured.since asurion offers it now you need to call tmo and make sure the insurance is on the n1
