Did you have a screen protector or not on it?
I've been fortunate that my Nexus never has seen a drop.....There is the "DROP TEST" Google/HTC does to the Nexus One in the factory to test it's durability.
There is a video all about this on Google. I believe it's the 3rd video of 4 in total.

My phone literally fell less then two feet to the ground. The problem was that it hit on the corner where the headphone jack is located. I guess that's a weak point. All I know is that my phone should be on it's way back from HTC any day now.

I was holding my phone too gently, got distracted, and my n1 took a four-foot faceplant onto concrete. The glass shattered but the LED & digitizer were fine. I took it to http://brokemynexusone.com in Sonoma County, CA and they fixed it with original parts for $150. Nice guys with some good supply contacts apparently. I recommend them. I looked for the part online without success. The owner said they were working on getting all the N1 parts (logic board, shell, etc)

Not a bad deal really, considering insurance is $60/year and the HTC deductible is $150 already.

How do people rate the HTC repair vs. outside vendors? I just called HTC, and they are quote $115 for the screen repair. I just emailed drcellphone.com for a quote so I'll see how much they charge. Just curious about people's experiences.

Damn, such a pretty phone and it's ugly now with the broken screen...
