protecting the camera lens? scratching the screen?
I had an iphone for several years and one nice thing about them was I could leave it in my pocket (with keys and coins) and the screen never got scratched.
I recently got a silicone case for my nexus but was concerned about the fact that the camera lens is still exposed and I wonder how durable the piece of crystal/glass that covers it is? I would actually love a case that somehow had a lens cover flap that could be removed/folded away when I wanted to take photos. So really I have two questions: 1. How durable is the screen when compared to an iphone? 2. How durable is the camera lens and do I need to protect it? |

Well from what it looks like when i take off the back of my N1.. is that the 'lens' itself is already protected buy the glass/plastic(??) of the removeable back. So odds are if there is going to be a scratch..it really wont be on the lens itself. Only thing one would do is just get a replacement backing and all is fixed.
As to the screen.. so far all is good on mine.. I use mine out on the tarmac (work at the airport here in Las Vegas) and nothing has put a dent/scratch on my screen. |

The plastic got all scratched up already for me. Not enough to be visible on pictures but it is visible when looking at the back.
You can buy replacement back covers for about 25 bucks though. Doesn't actually bother me though.
