Sacramento, CA T-Mobile Coverage - Nexus One

I live in Elk Grove, CA and work in Sacramento, CA. I have a nexus one (ordered in Jan) and have T-Mobile service. Is it just me, or has the internet data transfer been slow? I thought t-mobile was supposed to have this new HSDPA. I haven't seen much in impressive speed. My roommate has a Droid on Verizon and he has been clocking 1.5+ mB/s and I get around .4 - .6 mB/s. Anyone else seeing a weak data transfer on T-Mobile around Sacramento or in your city?

I just rooted my N1 last night and so far it leave up to the hype everyone is talking. Glad I did it. Fast. But as far as internet speed goes, here in vegas, I did a dl test and I average about 740kbit/s and ul of 290kbit/s. I guess it depends on the area you are. But for the dl speed test today, I must say it's an increase to what I use to have before. And I'm on the"H" speed, I guess new term for 3g speed when rooted.

0.4 - 0.6 megabits sounds about right. I live in Natomas and my work is near Elk Grove (more like Land Park area).

The funny thing is, I almost always consistently get twice the upload speed than download. I average anywhere between 400-800kbps (more on the lower end) during the day for download but upload is anywhere in the 600-900kbps.

I'm holding out on the backend overhaul they're doing on the towers across the nation for the speeds to pick up later. My guess is that our areas (Sac/Elk Grove isnt the biggest of towns) aren't a huge market and they just don't have that many towers and lots of data hungry people are connected to it.

Best I've seen is 1mbps and I've hit that ONCE.

I live in Davis and I get about 800 dl and 6-700 ul kbps. Interestingly enough, whenever I am at home in the bay (Santa Clara), my speeds are both around 1,000 kbps for download and high 900's for uploads even though I get better reception in Davis (high 70's to low 80s vs low 100's in the bay). I am not sure if reception and 3g speeds are connected though

In Sacramento, CA T-Mobile coverage is pretty good.

My coverage inside building is almost always spotty, and I never have 3g//H inside my house. But usually outside i ALWAYS have full coverage. The bay area has great coverage by T-Mobile.
