Sleep/LockScreen delay before lock code required

I hope I'm describing this properly.

I know how to change the settings for how long the screen times out and goes to the lockscreen on wake.

What I'd like to do is have the lockscreen NOT require the lockcode for a couple of minutes after first going to sleep. iPhones have this setting, and it's pretty handy in my opinon.

Basically, you set the phone to not require the lockscreen pattern for a minute or two after going to sleep.

I haven't found a setting for this. Anyone know of a third party app that might do this?

There isn't a setting for what you describe AFAIK. All you can do is extend the time for Screen Timeout:

Home > Settings > Sound & Display > Screen Timeout

Thanks, but like I said, I already know how to do that. That's not very battery-life friendly, sadly.

Battery life on my Nexus One is atrocious, I won't do anything that makes it worse than it already is.

It's a really handy feature on the iPhone for me - I use a gym logging application, and if I set it to a few minutes before the autolock engages, I can do a set, log it, turn off the screen to save battery, do a second set, and then turn on the screen to log the next set without having to enter the pin. Not a biggie, but convenient.

Thanks again.

Search android market for AutoLock. It's not 100% accurate, but does the job most of the time. I suggest you give to it a try...
