Question support for WPA2 Enterprise?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it supports WPA2 Enterprise authentication out of the box? I use this at my workplace, so it would be a big selling point for me...

Thanks,
Cosmin

Android has supported this Donut, so I'd expect the version on the N1 should do it just fine. Probably best to wait to see if your particular variation is supported though.. not all are (some use cert. only, some use username/password, some use both, some have wierd encryption settings, etc.).

The base OS can do just about any combination but then that involves editing config files directly.

Do you need root to edit the config files? I have only an HTC Magic to test here, which has Android 1.5, so no luck here. On an iPod Touch it asks for username and password. Do you know if this type of authentication is supported?

If you have to edit config files you'd probably need root.. without seeing how an N1 is setup though it's difficult to say.

I can't imagine that a modern phone wouldn't support this standard. I'll post back here today when mine arrives and let you know.

A hands-on test would be great. Thanks.
Please let us know also the exact setup you have there.

Most phones don't support it - even the iphone only got support recently.. that said, it *should* support some form of it.

From my understanding, all the connectivity is implemented. They just didn't add the user interface to configure it...

Edit: at least on my (current) HTC Magic.

Keiran, did yours arrive? Did you have a chance to test the wireless authentication?
