AT&T Data Packages

So my phone is still under contract for two more months with AT&T. I was wondering if you guys think I could get away with their cheaper data pack instead of the PDA/Smartphone data package. Since I'm only using Edge what the heck would it matter. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work honestly, it's just whether or not their systems will let them add the chaper data SOC. I work for Sprint customer care and that's the way it works with the some of the more advanced PDA and smartphones, they just restrict you to certain plans or features. Tech support person I spoke with at AT&T says that it's not actually compatible because the phone will not work right but honestly, I think that is a line of BS since you are going to be using the same connection.

Is it your intention to leave ATT when your contract is up? Why not just break it now?

Mine isn't up until July and it's only going to cost me 90 dollars to break it. They said that that would go down by 5 dollars per month until my contract was up, so I can't imagine yours would be that expensive.
