Nexus One has been one-upped by Samsung
Samsung i8520 'Halo' Android 2.1 phone with 3.7-inch Super AMOLED and pico projector -- Engadget
Same 3.7 inch AMOLED display and Android 2.1 platform but... Built in projector!!! WOW 8.0 MP camera that shoots 720P video! (Has a front vacing VGA for video calls as well) DIV-X and X-VID playback support! 16GB built in memory with micro-sd expansion! 802.11N support! DLNA support! 1800 MaH battery! (Compared to Nexus' 1400) and... Stereo speakers! (This got me excited because the mono speaker on my Nexus One is very quiet and sounds horrible, can not hear it ring when it is in my pocket! Have always just relied on vibrate) Don't get me wrong, I love my nexus one, but hardware-wise this samsung blows it out of the water. The software on the Samsung looks horrible from that one screenshot IMO. Looks like it has 7 homescreens?! Don't mess with perfection (software) Samsung... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You can disable a 3rd party home app such as SenseUI and whatever Samsung use (TouchWiz apparently) if you prefer vanilla Android.

Didn't realize that Rusty! I guess you learn something new everyday... I was thinking the only fix was to flash Nexus One Rom on it haha (But that would've meant giving up the Projector UI possibly). Thanks!

I've seen it on a Hero, you just force stop the 3rd party prog, hit the home button then select the standard one and tick the default box... piece of piss!

I could honestly care less about a projector...
But the DIVX, and 8mp camera is pretty freaking sweet. The front camera is nice too.... But its just a ugly phone. I don't see what the point of having a projector.... Like, its REALLY cool... But are you going to watch a full movie off your cellphone? I guess you could record videos and project them, but its just unnecessary to me. NOT to mention, trying to project a 720P video??? Like, the Nexus battery is HORRIBLE, i couldn't imagine this battery! it would die in like 20 minutes. :P

Danger that's pretty sick. I'm still sold on my N1 though. It does everything I need plus some...I'm not complaining. Technology is just one of those things that you cannot stay up to date with on one single device. We should be stoked more on Android's advances rather than phones.

It was only a matter of time. What are the dimensions? Looks bulkier than N1. I wonder how much it costs.

I guess a built-in projector is the next trend in high end smartphones. Good for presentations and stuff I guess.
Good for using it to show off :P
