Quick answer to your question...no

Gallery isn't design for that.

There are apps that you can use to hide naked photos of your wife, or hide photos of your girlfriend from your wife, depending on what your circumstances are.

Photo Safe seems to be the best, but I haven't tried it.

Quick answer to your question...no

and now the correct answer.... the quick way..... YES

here's how:

1. Download "astro" from Android markets.
2. Open astro
3. Press menu. Press "new directory"
4. In "enter new name", name anything starting from ".", for example ".photos", or ".videos", and press create.
5. Mount your nexus one to computer
6. Open your new "dot...." file and you put whatever you wanna out. The files put in this folder will not be detected by nexus one gallery/picture viewer!! Hurrah!!!

To view your photos or videos, open astro, open "dot...." folder and watch all the videos and see all the photos.

optionally, you can download yxflash from the market and play your media through it.

If you have to use a third party app which works, then I guess it is correct to say 'Gallery' doesn't support it on it's own.

no third party app needed. plug the usb into your PC... mount the sd card... create the folder.. done.

astro is just another way of doing it.

For clarification, third party app meaning; Gallery by itself can not do what
JenJenKim wanted....

So another app is required!!

Sorry but what does "mount your nexus one to computer" mean? I'm obviously not tech savvy. You mean usb?
