Need tips on battery life

One of my few complaints about the N1 is meager battery life. No way I can get a full day's use. Would appreciate any tips on keeping the battery going longer.

goto home - menu - settings - about phone - battery usage and monitor what is your #1 killer for battery use. you should be able to go a full day without having to charge your phone.

Thanks folks. Well, live wallpaper has been off, so that's not the issue for me. When I search on Battery Use, I see:

Display 48%
Cell standby 35%
Phone idle 5%
Mediaserver 4%
Android System 4%
Android OS 2%
Wi-Fi 2%

I don't know what to make of those numbers, so would appreciate advice.

Am I the only one with disappointing battery life? Maybe my phone or battery has an issue.

Its all on how you use it.

If Im at work using it light to moderately I have all settings maxed out.

If I know Im going to be away from a power source all day, I'll drop my display brightness to lowest. That tends to consume the most.

Turn off live wallpaper
If your not in 3g area lock the phone to 2g.
Turn off wifi when not in use.
Turn off bluetooth when not in use.
My screen is set to auto brightness.

Look at some fetch/push whatever settings on email and such. Mine checks every 30 min. The more often the more battery.

In my experience the display uses between 60 and 80 percent of the battery.

So, turn the brightness down, and don't turn the screen on every 2 minutes to gawk at the beauty of the phone and you should save a lot of juice.

I have mine on the lowest brightness setting and turn off things when I don't need them, battery life is about the same as my N95 so think I'm doing alright.
