Have you seen anyone in public with a nexus one?
Not me. I thought I would be seeing people with nexus one but I haven't seen any. I guess it's not that popular? @_@

Also - when few of my friends saw my nexus one, they didn't even know what phone it was.

Give it some time before you see anyone around your area with the phone in hand or in the carrying case it came with.
The phone is still relatively new and I haven't notice anyone carrying one around in my area either.

Considering the amazing marketing campaign (none) by Google I'm not surprised.

So far I'm the only one I've seen with it, but a few people had at least heard of it...

Same here, haven't seen anyone with it. I get a lot of "IS THAT A DROID!?!?"... I just say yes and put it away.

I guess it also depends on the location you are in. I bet if it was released in Japan you would see tons of people taking pictures with it...hahahaha

And you are right, that marketing campaign (NADA) would of helped.
No free t-shirts, mugs, pens or phone giveaways........

I love that about the phone though. 1 of the reasons I didn't get an iphone or blackberry is because everyone has one.
