accessing other progs/apps whilst in a call
If i'm on a call to someone and i need to go into my contacts to check a number or address, is it possible to do with android ?

Yes.. simply hit the Menu button or Back button to go to screen. Navigate to wherever you want.
Phone call will be in notification area - drag down and select to go back to dialer - call will remain live until ended.
