Does Android 2.1 enable sorting of contacts?

Does Android 2.1 enable sorting of contacts?
Since the Nexus One has Android 2.1 I'm wondering if it enables sorting of contacts by other fields such as last name.

Not that I can tell.... Sort is still by first name. Search function works well - just start typing last name...
