recommendation please!

I sold my N1 (1 year old) for US$ 450. I was unable to resist that offer...

Now, what phone do you recommend? the Nexus S 3G radio does not work in Argentina, then is not an option.

I can buy Motorola Atrix, but the signed bootloader and MOTOBLUR makes me doubt.

Thanks!

PD: sorry my google-translate english

Atrix is a good idea and I wouldn't worry about motoblur just root it I'm sure there are going to be (if not already) be custom ROMs available that will remove motoblur it's not a big deal but I'm not sure what you mean by the locked bootloader all the bootloaders in android phones are locked and the atrix's has been rooted so you don't have to worry about if they find one or not.

Also, Blur is one of the more deeply embedded "skins" on Android. I've been told that even on devices where custom ROMs and kernels exist, that it simply can't be removed.

That's surprising because isn't the ROM supposed to be completely erased when you flash a new ROM to the phone? Isn't the whole idea behind custom ROMs to be able to change the whole look and functions of your phone?

Well, you have to give up a certain amount of knowledge gained via the Nexus to see what I'm saying. The Nexus is able to have new kernels and ROMs installed, because the bootloader is open and can be unlocked. The Atrix, OTOH, has a signed and encrypted bootloader that totally prevents either of those things. So, at present, all an Atrix owner can do is theme their OS, and 'hide' Blur with alternative launchers. You can disable all the widgets that Blur brings in order to relieve the load on the processor; but as I understand it, if you actually try to remove Blur, you'll cripple the OS. Now, I'm not sure how that limitation works on other Moto phones, but I'd bet that the underlying software "hooks" remain, even in an alternate ROM. Hopefully someone else can confirm or refute my understanding, if needed.

Ok well thanks for the info WERA I redid my research a little bit and the thing is that the Atrix ROM can be rooted meaning if you run an emulated version you can achieve root but to do this on an actual phone requires unlocking the bootloader (which is the same as pretty much every phone) this is where what you said comes in the thing is that Motorola have the worlds hardest bootloader to crack and they are still working on it it's not cracked yet but it may some time soon (or maybe not who knows). But after you get the bootloader unlocked it is the same principal as the nexus you can play with the ROM files cause they become read/right files instead of read only.

Well that's what I found at least

That's basically it, Dude. It's just that that confounded bootloader is so damn hard to crack on the Atrix...so thus far, there's no way past it, and no custom ROMs for it. But yeah, since a ROM is essentially a custom OS, it can be written to eliminate anything the coder wants to eliminate--IF they can get to it, that is.
