I've been reading various specs on the Nexus One, but I'm not seeing GPS? Is it supposed to have it built in?

Yes for sure!
A phone without GPS these days is a failure! And Google doesn't fail.

GPS and Compass, also when it cant use GPS it uses cell towers for location.
