How do I empty the trash?

I have three accounts linked to my combined inbox and it works fairly well (except for yahoo telling me I have new mail when I don't). I do wonder how to empty the trash email, though. Under the folders options, I can *see* all the email I deleted, but it just keeps adding up and not going away permanently. Any thoughts?

Yes that is the menu button and it usually gives you many different options, it has one longer horizontal line above 3 other shorter ones. You can use it in many different apps.

Required a widget to clear Trash.

My trash box shows 10 messages but when I open it there is nothing displayed.
How does one clear this.

Have you been checking messages from your e-mail anywhere else besides your phone?
