Question A few quick questions about the Nexus One

Hi guys,

I'm on the verge of buying a Nexus One, but am hesitant because of a few things. I'm not an expert on phones, so bear with me.

  1. Europe
    1. To what extent does the phone work in Europe?
    2. Does 3G work in Europe?
    3. Does functionality depend on the carrier?
  2. Verizon
    1. How will the Verizon Nexus One be different, if at all?
    2. Why should I wait for the Verizon N1?
    3. Is Verizon's network that much better than T-Mobile? (I live in the St Paul/Minneapolis are)
I'm asking this because I hear some people talking about it not being CDMA or GSM or whatever, and I know the N1 doesn't work on AT&T's 3G.

Many thanks from a confused fan!

Thanks alphawave, I will give that a good read. So the N1 phone itself released for/with Verizon, and later Vodafone (Europe) will not in any way be different? Doesn't it cover some additional frequencies?

Wait, are you saying that if I get a T-mobile contract in the US i will be able to use it in Europe (with t-mobile)? Are you sure about that? That would be amazing, but I've never heard of anything like that. I assumed I would have to pause the sub and pop in a different SIM card.

And thanks a lot for helping me out, I do appreciate it.
