Hello this is my first time on here so sorry for the noobie questions:
I live in UK I have had my nexus for 3 weeks now from Vodafone its build no is EPF30 on the vodafone Network.
I tried to follow the thread that Iggy82 posted but when it came to installing from sdcard i get the following:

Install from sdcard...
finding update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I downloaded from the romraid site as the android clients file seems to have been removed.
Please can someone help me
Thanks in advance

Got to 12 fine but got the 'E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command' line too. It then fails to install as the 'signiture varification failed'...
Erm......

Looks like I'm not the only one doing this as we speak! :-) Same for me as kram69!

With a little research it may be because we're on Vodafones EPF30 build????

Yes Voda EPF30 users cant use this OTA update. Check the vodafone eforum for details. Im not sure if there is another package you can use to update which will aloow it to update but if there is it will be linked in VF forum.

Here is a clarified guide to this process.....

Download this file onto your PC.

http://www.romraid.com/paul/nexusone...9.a487b405.zip

Rename the file to update.zip.
Transfer the file update.zip to the root of your N1 SD card (so it is directly on the card not in any folder).
Power off your N1 and make sure the SD card is inserted in the phone.
Hold down the trackball and power on the N1 whilst still holding the trackball.
It will boot into recovery mode menu.
Use the up and down volume keys to navigate this menu and the power button to select. Navigate to recovery and click the power button.
Phone will reboot to a screen with a droid and an exclamation triangle.
When its at this screen hold the volume up key and click the power button.
It will then give you a list of options.
Select "apply sdcard: update.zip" and click the trackball.
It will install the updated files and then reboot.
All good.

If you get an error during the "apply sdcard: update.zip" activity then the update wont work for you as your probably on Vodafone or another OS version that is not yet compatible with this 2.2 update.

If you see an error "E:Can't Open /cache/recovery/command" at the menu after the reboot dont worry about it just continue.

If you mess it up and just want to bail out and go back to normal and you reboot but it gets stuck in recovery mode, then get hold of the origional OS image for your phone from here:

10/May ERD79 -> EPF21B - Stock ROM for Nexus One images / zip / online kitchen (optional root / insecure / himem) - Android @ MoDaCo

Vodafone UK users get it here:

http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Pass...ase_signed.zip

Rename this file to PASSIMG.zip
Transfer it to the root of your SD card like before.
Power off the phone and boot back up while holding the trackball.
When it boots navigate to the "bootloader" option and click it with the power button.
It will install the stock image from the PASSIMG.zip and your phone will reboot back to normal with the 2.1 OS.

NOTE: if you cant opern the downloaded ZIP files with windows dont worry, download and use WinRAR to open them as they do actually work.

Hai,

I bought HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2 build with Vodafone India. I want to update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread. I tried several sites but they are giving the updates from 2.3 to or 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. How to get the update file from 2.3.4 from 2.2 Android. (Please mention "Build Numbers" of this too). When I tried the files. I got the following errors.

Install from sdcard...
finding update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Please help in this regard. Thanks
