N1 Stock 2.3.4, finally time to root?
Hello all,
I am running a Nexus One stock on 2.3.4 I bought it unlocked, but I have no dea how to know if my bootloader is unlocked. Every time I try to find information on it I get confused and turned in circles. ALL I want root for is to overclock it, because the phone is starting to show its age on 3d games. To the best of my knowledge, I need to unlock the bootloader to root it, and I need to root it to download and use setCPU to overclock it. Can anyone point me to a guide of some sort as to where to start? everything Im finding is for 2.3.3 and earlier etc. Driving me nuts. Thanks in advance for help :-/ |

Ok well you don't need to unlock the bootloader but if you don't then you need to downgrade root then re update with custom firmware. Either way you will lose all your data because unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone and so does downgrading. Now to learn how to do this I suggest you visit this thread and read what you can and then you can chose on how you want to root. The Nexus One Oracle
