Once you Root and install a Recovery, you can make a Nandroid backup in Recovery of your Stock Root Setup. You can use Titanium to backup your Apps, and SMS Backup and Restore for your text messages.

Titanium backup complete
Set cpu installed

Clock work Mod Recovery v2.5.1.0
Rom manager 3.0.0.7
Boot ... Done
Recovery ... Done
System ... Done
Data ... Done
.android_secure ... Done

(Issues)
1. Cache - NO SD_EXT FOUND (WTH is this?)
2. On reboot market and gmail both fc (have to restore individually app+data from Titanium each time)
3. SD card is 90% FULL!

Please assist with issues, once solved will move to Stage 3 (CM6)
with danger, slice, rugman's help... Truth?

No Worries your almost there!

1. You have no SD Extension setup so No need to worry about that.

2.Once you flash a Rom that should Stop I think.

3.Clear out what you can so you have room for your Stock Nandroid Backup in Rom Manager/Clockwork

Edit: oops, looks like you already did the Nandroid Backup in Recovery aye?

Thanks Slice old Bud

1. Do I need to get this SD extension, what does it do?

2. I've reinstalled gmail and market, which seems to have fixed the issue

3. A) I have Run a full Titanium Back up
B) I have performed 2 clockworkmod recoveries ... the system displayed the green robot and the arrow jumping out of the box with the status messages as shown above... Then my n1 rebooted... But no folder/file called nandroid ...

Have I backed up correctly/completely/comprehensively?

Clockwork back up will be on your SD card under the Clockwork folder...

SD extension is moving apps/data to the SD, so it depends if you want to do that?

1. I think this is something best to decide after you have chosen a Rom. Then you will be able to decide if you need an SD extension for more App Storage.

3b) as Danger-Rat stated it should be in a folder on your SD called Clockwork.

You can hit me up on GTalk if you have more Questions Yo

Edit:Lol Took me a while to get that post together

2. Is still an issue, have to reinstall both market and gmail each time I reboot, as they fc... I have the same problem with the "KeepScreen" app

Could it be because of a move (i may have done unwittingly) to sd card? If this is the case... How do get these 3 back into internal memory?
