Flashing and SIM card
When flashing ROM, would it be best to take out the SIM card or leave it in, or doesn't matter?
Also to flash custom ROM, do I need the bootloader unlocked? I have root but when trying to flash a ROM last night I got "operation aborted". Last edited by baseballfanz; 12-02-2010 at 11:04 AM. |

For the sim it changes nothing.
As for your problem are you on a custom recovery or stock because you can`t flash ROMs on stock recovery try one like clockworkmod. Maybe for your first time try ROM manager. |

I use Rom Manager.
I'm trying to update to FRG83 so I wil lstop getting the annoying updating message. I followed this thread here to upgrade from FRF91 to FRG83 and not loose root. Update your rooted Nexus One from stock FRF91 (Android 2.2/Froyo) to FRG83 (2.2.1) KenKinder.com - Ken Kinder's personal website I download the file, put it on the sd card. Using Rom Manger chose Install ROM from SD card, check the backup and wipe options and than flash. A minute into it it stopped and gave me "operation aborted". |

You know the more you read into these things the more you'll get confuse.
![]() So last night I said what the heck! I'm now running Cyanogen 6 (stable version from what I've gather). It was easy, nerves racking and fun all at the same time. ![]() Now that I've started I'm sure there's gonna be more flashing. ![]()
