By the way in case some people don't know it, you can use a program like iTunes, or media player and pick the part of a song you want for a ring tone, 30 sec clips seem to work best, then you can save that where you want to find it, and use it. You have to save a clip of song, I know that in iTunes you go into song information to do this.

Not necessary. All that needs to be done is create folders in the root directory named "ringtones" "alarms" and "notifications". Without the quotes of course and in lower case. At least that's what I have done and works like a champ. You wont be able to see the sound files you put in the folders until you unmount the phone.

I'm using the futuredial suite nexus one edition. FutureDial Suite for Google Nexus One. it's easy and works fine for me. They even have an instructional video that will guide you through.

That's what I did, and I can't see the music (MP3) under the Ringtones.
Do we have to remove and put back the SD card from the phone, or it is going to refresh automaticaly?

One solution I found, you can place new songs (MP3) anywhere on you SD card.
On your Nexus one (in the "Music" section), you will see those files. When you select one, you can go in the menu (button on the bottom of your phone) and there is an option "Use as ringtone"... and that's it.

Note: I used this step because I've tried to create the folders, and place the files in it. But, my phone doesn't see new files/folder when I go in the "ringtone" section.

when i place my .mp3's in ringtone folder, the song appears in the ringtone default list. Just make sure you have the folders rooted correctly on the phone and make sure your files have the ".mp3" extension.

maybe just reboot the phone will do. (for me, it appears without reboot. i transfer from imac directly. works like a charm)
