reading email aloud

How is it that we live in the v2.2 2010 era and there still isn't an app that can use tts to easily read my gmail aloud.

I keep looking everywhere and find almost nothing - the ones I do find want my email info, want a monthly fee or are sketchy.

There's this one below with only 3 comments, with 2 diff brand names and a sketchy site. And ties reading to gmail alerts? Is there anything safer, better, simpler?

Have you looked in Vlingo? I know it read text out loud but I have never looked into the email side of things.
