I use Chrome Browser and just tried it by selecting some text on this page then clicking the CTP icon, and it worked. If you then go to your phone and select a notebook app (or somewhere you can paste text), long-press and then select paste, you will get only the text you highlighted.
I totally understand what you are saying and I thought so too.
but when I highlight a text on a page, and click CTP icon, the phone pops up with that page.
and let's say I then press the search button on Home and try to long press on empty space, it wont' show "paste".. that means nothing sent to clipboard. my god, someone is very buggy on my side.

Try pasting into a SMS text field. That's what I did and no issues. Also Google a place of business, highlight the phone number and use the GTP see if it send it to your phone dialer.

If it doesn't I would suggest uninstalling both the browser and phone and reinstall and see if that might help resolve the issue.

The txt to phone works for me...Wow I didn't even know I could do that
I'm using chrome browser btw. Make sure you have the latest chrome extension...should be version 2.0.

Now this is what I am talking about... damn
of all the time you guys spent with me testing, the conclusion is my app was outdated. damn.

Anyway, this works now and I see some people also learned a few tricks.
