u dont need to reset the phone, i think u are using the chomp SMS or other app to sent chinese word and there is nothing related with the chinese input app. u have to use the orginal messaging if u sent a chinese word to somebody else....

The only way I can send Chinese (traditional) is by going to google translate, type in the specific text and copy the translation. It lets me send the symbols as a text message.
That way is more troubling, but if there is no other way that works... that may be your only choice. =( |

I met this before. Try to restore all the configurations of Google pinyin to factory settings. Then reopen the SMS app. Sometime the pinyin will work.
If still not working, remove google pinyin before shutting down your Nexus. Then turn on it, installl the pinyin again. I could input Chinese again in Handcent SMS. |

chinese sms reply
The Samsung Nexus is a powerful phone but sadly it does not carry the Chinese sms reply mode. It is a very basic application which almost all other even simpler and cheaper phone carry - too bad. Unless the manufacturer has a downloading line
 like Nokia phones which update and upgade new applications for free.
