Default Music app not ordering songs correctly

Anyone else have a problem with the default Music application not ordering songs correctly within an album? I have a few albums that Music lists in the wrong order, most it deals with just fine. Instead, it sorts by the song name in the ID3 tag. It (rightfully) ignores the filename itself. The files are correctly tagged with song numbers.

The only other music app I have on my N1 is RockOn, which sorts the same albums correctly- albums look as they should. Applications on my desktop sort correctly as well- 1by1, iTunes, VLC, and WMP.

Anyone have any ideas for fixing this? Does the Music app need a a particular ID3 version?

Something I never notice before...

It appears this is how the Nexus arranges the music file within the folder.

...huh? The N1 Music app doesn't always do this. I have plenty of albums which Music sorts correctly, sorting by track number instead of song title.

Which is why I ask the question- why does the N1 Music app sort only some albums and mp3s incorrectly?

Just checked all my albums. I don't have this problem. In my case, all the songs in an album are always sorted by track number.

I'm not surprised- like I said, most of my albums work just fine. But some don't. The files aren't corrupted- other music apps on my phone deal with them fine.

I guess I'll file a bug!

I would use MP3Tag to go through the songs. It is very likely that there is some bad character in the field you can't necessarily see, or perhaps it is 1/12, 2/12... format, which is I believe non-standard.
