android internet filter

I use safe eyes on my PC and have called them to ask if they are developing a filter for android or blackberry and they said they are considering it but need more feedback and requests from customers and/or consumers to be able to gauge whether or not they want to proceed. So... call them and get on the request list. They are taking names and keeping track on how many are doing so. I swear by safe eyes and wish they would develop software for android as well.

I am looking for something to filter out all the junk on the internet such as spam and porn. I know they have a version of safeeyes for the iPhone, maybe they are developing one for the android OS.
Well... spam refers specifically to e-mail (or maybe SMS) and not really to web browsing.

As far as porn is concerned... have to you found your browser accidentally running off to porn sites?

I don't really see the problem here.

I can imagine a few scenarios you'd want such a filter:

1. You leave your phone on your desk and some work colleague thinks it's fun to visit a porn site and leave it visible. You get fired on the spot.

2. Your kids are always wanting to play Angry Birds on your phone and you want to avoid them googling something and following a porny link.

3. You're one of these weird purity types and somehow can't trust yourself to not look at porn so you install a blocker and tell someone else to keep the password to it. What a bizarre and wasteful life these people have. (See page 1 of this thread for an example of one).

Also:

4. Related to number 2 above: You realize porn sites are popular vectors for malicious exploits. Which is why blocking access to known shady sites (including but not limited to porn) is a good idea generally. If your friend's computer gets a virus and sends you an email with a malicious link in it, and you get fooled into clicking the link, you might be happy that your phone/computer can't even connect.

By the way, you may feel "purity types" have a weird and wasteful life. Maybe. But someone might say the same thing about an alcoholic who can't keep any booze in the house. Living a constrained life may seem odd, but some people just know their life gets even more bizarre and wasteful when they give in to their addiction.
