Installed Skype Lite Beta (1.0.0.5) from the market and signed on and made a couple of calls with no issue.

My quick review of android skype lite

"! Calling is not available in your region"

That goes for all types of skype accounts, subscription or otherwise.

Fring with skype added on is pull your hair out buggy, but it works somtimes though. Its alot of turning fring app off & on & re-starting Nexus One when calling out does not work.

Send a message via Skype™ to davidalow44
Skype Lite connects to the Skype server via a cell phone call. The real Skype (e.g. on the iPhone) connects via the internet and VOIP.

Windows mobile phones also do the same. I was so jealous when i saw my friend do that, also shocked in amazement.
